Harwin unveils advanced interactive cable configurator at electronica 2024
Harwin has launched a standalone cable configuration tool at Electronica 2024. Developed in conjunction with Cadenas, a leading software developer in the areas of strategic parts management and parts reduction, the online Harwin Cable Configurator reduces the time that engineers spend designing cable assemblies by allowing them to develop ‘right-first-time’ configurations online that are then delivered ready-made for use in the target application.
Historically, engineers developing cable assemblies have had to create their designs, place multiple orders for connectors and cables, put everything together manually and then spend time testing and troubleshooting. The easy-to-navigate Harwin Cable Configurator, which is fully integrated into Harwin’s automated processes, now allows engineers to quickly develop fully functional configurations that are guaranteed to be to specification and that can be supplied with very short delivery times.
Using the new tool, users can configure Harwin’s high-performance, high-reliability connectors in a single- or double-ended cable assembly by simplify selecting a few key design parameters. A 3D render, which is created in real time, can then be downloaded along with a technical drawing, a full bill of materials and the option to request a quote. Dedicated product specialists will then confirm prices and lead time, which is typically a matter of days. If necessary, users can also reverse engineer designs to generate configurations and quotes for existing solutions.
Harwin will be demonstrating the Cable Configurator on its booth (A2.335) at electronica 2024 in Munich from 12th to 15th November alongside a number of other digital tools for rapid product selection and application development.
