High surge TVS is designed for USB Type-C PD
Designed for VBUS protection, low clamping voltage, high-surge transient voltage suppressors (TVS) from Alpha and Omega Semiconductor can be used for USB Type-C power delivery (PD) in laptops and smartphones.
The AOZ8621UNI covers a reverse working voltage (VRWM) range from 5.0 to 22V, suitable for USB PD. VRWM can be selected according to the maximum operating voltage on the Type-C VBUS pin.
According to Alpha and Omega, the low breakdown voltage, low clamping voltage and high-surge current contribute to reducing the ESD and EOS failure rates in products.
The AOZ8621UNI-05, AOZ8621UNI-07, AOZ8621UNI-12, AOZ8621UNI-15, AOZ8621UNI-18, AOZ8621UNI-20 and AOZ8621UNI-22 have a typical breakdown voltage of 7.0 to 25.5V, depending on the model.
The TVS series is housed in a DFN 2×2 package for small electronic devices’ footprints.
The devices are immediately available in production quantities with a lead time of 16 weeks.
Alpha and Omega Semiconductor (AOS) designs, develops and supplies a broad range of power semiconductors, including power MOSFETs, IGBTs, IPMs, TVS, HVICs, GaN/SiC, power ICs and digital power products.
The company has also developed intellectual property (IP) and technical knowledge to address the increasingly complex power requirements of advanced electronics. AOS’ products are used in high-volume applications, including portable computers, flat-panel TVs, LED lighting, smartphones, battery packs, consumer and industrial motor controls and power supplies for TVs, computers, servers and telecommunications equipment.
