Incremental encoder supports larger shaft sizes
The AMT incremental encoder family by CUI Devices’ Motion and Control group now include the AMT13A series which is not subject to silicon related lead time constraints, said the company. It can serve as a drop-in replacement for AMT13 encoder models. The AMT13A encoders offer 16 quadrature resolutions from 96 to 4096 pulse per revolution (PPR), selectable via an on-board DIP switch, while supporting larger motor shaft sizes from 9.0 to 15.875mm (5/8 inch).
CUI Devices’ proprietary capacitive ASIC technology is used which enables the AMT13A series to be durable, accurate and immune to environmental factors. Available in compact radial and axial package types with a locking hub, the encoders are easy to install, said CUI Devices. They also have low power consumption of 8mA at 5.0V. The AMT13A series also carries an operating temperature range from -40 to +125 degrees C and offers differential line driver versions.
CUI Devices offers an AMT13A-V kit to support development and design with the inclusion of nine sleeve bore options from 9.0 to 15.875mm and three simple mounting tools. These all-in-one kit components combine to simplify the installation process onto a motor and reduce component count in production.
The AMT13A series is available immediately now. The encoder is available from stock with lead times of 10 weeks. The encoders are suitable for robotics, industrial and automation applications.
