IXYS appoints Anglia as UK and Ireland distributor
Anglia has been appointed UK and Ireland distributor for power semiconductor manufacturer which was acquired by Littlefuse last year. Anglia has been a Littelfuse distributor since January 2017.
David Pearson, technical director of Anglia, says the agreement is a natural fit: “IXYS, with its focus on medium- to high-voltage power semiconductors across the industrial, communications, consumer and medical device markets, complements our existing portfolio . . . Specifically IXYS brings new power solutions that will appeal to customers in the key industrial markets that we are active in,” he added.
Mark Smith, European sales manager at Littelfuse, agrees: “We have had a strong and successful relationship with Anglia for over two years, and it made complete sense to extend our agreement to cover this new range of very innovative products. Anglia has demonstrated that it has the technical ability to design-in our specialised solutions . . . Their portfolio includes numerous complementary products to IXYS solutions allowing them to offer a more complete solution to their customers.”
Littelfuse added the IXYS portfolio of advanced power semiconductor technologies to its established range of power control technologies. The IXYS range of power semiconductors includes MOSFETs, IGBTs, high power thyristors, silicon controlled rectifiers (SCRs) and rectifiers. It also encompasses ICs – solid state relays, opto isolators, gate drivers, LED drivers and high voltage analogue ICs.
Anglia has invested in inventory of IXYS products to support new design activity and products are available on Anglia Live for same-day shipment. Anglia field application engineers (FAEs) are trained in the IXYS product range and able to support customers with their power designs. Anglia has expanded its engineering resource over the last year with the addition of a dedicated power engineer, who will be working with customers on IXYS designs.
