LoRaWAN products connect and monitor remote areas
LoRaWAN wireless products from Advantech B+B SmartWorx help users control and manage applications in remote areas. They use LoRa wireless sensing technology in these areas to monitor conditions, for example flood monitoring, and operate in harsh environments including extreme temperatures and high humidity.
Advantech uses LoRa wireless sensing technology to overcome the obstacle of distance, exploiting LoRa’s benefits such as operation over long distances – from five to 15km (three to nine miles). A single basestation can provide deep penetration in dense urban and indoor regions and can connect rural areas up to 48km (30 miles) away. The protocol is designed specifically for low power consumption battery lifetime is extended over years of operation while providing high capacity capable of supporting millions of messages per basestation, making the technology suitable for public network operators serving many customers, says Advantech.
LoRa networks reduce system costs by lowering infrastructure investment, operating expenses and end-node sensor cost, while offering high security with embedded end-to-end AES128 encryption, explains Advantech.
Advantech offers the WISE-6610 LoRa Gateway (LoRaWAN Private) which supports 868/915Mhz. It meets Cat. 4 LTE and has a nine to 36V DC power input. The battery powered Wzzard LRPv2 is based on Modbus RS485, 4AI/2DI/1DO and has a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +75 degrees C. It is protected to IP66.
