Mouser ships ams Osram’s magnetic position sensor for automotive use
Distibutor, Mouser Electronics is now stocking the AS5172E high-resolution magnetic position sensor from ams Osram. The AEC-Q100 Grade 1-qualified magnetic position sensor can be used in a variety of automotive applications, including brake and acceleration pedals, fuel level measurement systems, steering angle sensors, and contactless potentiometers.
The ams Osram AS5172E sensor provides angular position measurement by determining the orthogonal component of the magnetic flux density over a full-turn rotation. It comprises a 14-bit sensor array and analogue front end and uses a differential measurement method to compensate for external stray magnetic fields. According to Mouser this ensures accurate results through a 12-bit PSI5 output (V1.3 and V2.1) at 90 degree minimum arc.
The durable AS5172E sensor supports an extended operating temperature range of -40 to +125 degrees C and a supply voltage of up to 16.5V. It has over-voltage protection to 20V and reverse polarity protection to ‑18V.
