No-tools connection reduces assembly times in the field, says Harting

Harting says it is responding to customer challenges for sustainable working with additional connection technologies including Han Push-In technology which requires no tool and is claimed to reduce assembly times in the field by up to 30 per cent.

The Han Push-In simplifies the handling of components during maintenance work in environments with limited room for manoeuvre, such as in wind turbines, said Harting. According to the company, it is particularly well suited to applications where a high degree of flexibility is required, such as when changing tools on machines.

The connection technology behind the Han Push-In protected modules DD / E / EE / C / CC represents a refinement cage clamp springs which are particularly well suited to field termination due to their speed and ease of use. With push-in technology, the stranded wire for the connection can be inserted directly into the contact chambers. An internal clamp spring ensures a high-strength contact. If ferrules are used, the connection can be established without tools. In the case of stripped stranded wires, all you need for installation is a screwdriver.

In addition to up to 30 per cent less assembly time due to the direct insertion of the conductor into the contact chamber, Han Push-In offers easy handling due to tool-less termination and is plug compatible with identical products with other termination technologies, said Harting.

The shock-protected contacts ensure safe installation, added the company and Han Push-In offers increased flexibility during installation because of PCB and crimp termination technologies.

The Harting Technology Group is a supplier of industrial connectivity for data, signal and power with 14 production facilities and subsidiaries in 44 countries. The company also manufactures checkout zones for the retail trade, electromagnetic actuators for automotive and industrial series production, charging equipment for electric vehicles, as well as hardware and software for customers and applications in automation technology, mechanical and plant engineering, robotics and the transportation sector.
