ODU AMC connectors suit portable military mode
Data transmission and power supply are ensured for military personnel, using the AMC connectors in portable modes, said ODU. The company offers these connectors for transmitting data, signals or currents and with various peripheral devices such as optotronics, battery systems and communication devices for an intelligently networked comms system.
The AMC connectors are robust and optimised for demanding applications while being light in weight and in a compact design which saves space. According to ODU, they can achieve a weight advantage of up to 70 per cent. As a result, military personnel can carry comms supplies more easily as they are light in weight and have a small form factor.
The ODU AMC connectors are certified to MIL-STD-810G and thus meet the requirements of 38999 or NATO STANAG 4695. They also meet requirements for temperature extremes or strong vibrations, reported ODU, making them suitable for use in protective equipment.
Each connector can be tailored to meet a customer’s specific requirements, with PCB connection and cable assembly.
In the military sector, sensors, databases and individual weapons, as well as military units are connected in a single system. The interaction of vehicles, unmanned drones and emergency services, for example, involves large amounts of data, while networking systems increases protection and mobility, said ODU.
