OKW offers battery options for handheld enclosures with display area
Handheld enclosures in the Datec-Control range are designed to accommodate LCDs or displays. They are ergonomic, despite their large size, said OKW.
The handheld enclosures are available in two versions, either with or without a large cutout for a display module. There are four sizes of enclosures in the range, from XS (200 x 58mm or 94 x 39.5mm) to L (266 x 90mm or 144 x 60mm).
There is a choice of battery options depending on the size of the enclosure, i.e., XS (two or three AA batteries or one 9V battery), the S model requires four AA or one 9V batteries, while the M and L enclosures can use four or five AA batteries.
The battery compartment lids for sizes XS and S feature a latch and/or screw fixing. These sizes are rated IP 65 (optional). The M and L sized enclousres allow easy access to the battery compartment via a clip-in end section. These sizes are rated IP 54 (optional). All four sizes are available in two standard colours, off-white (RAL 9002) and black (RAL 9005).
The Datec-Control enclosure range is suitable for a range of applications, including mobile data collection and transfer, measuring and control technology, medical and wellness devices, smart factory and industry 4.0.
OKW said that the smart ergonomic design ensures these big, robust ABS enclosures are well balanced and comfortable to hold despite their capacious size. The large head section is designed to house standard-sized LCDs and graphic display modules. The operating area is recessed to accommodate a membrane keypad. Inside there are fastening pillars for PCBs.
Accessories include battery compartments and holders, battery contacts, battery clips, a plug-in contact (for 9V cells), a battery spacer, enclosure end plates, desktop and wall-mountable charging stations, wall suspension elements, display windows, sealing kits, shock-absorbing impact protectors (with or without a shoulder strap), a ring eyelet and a strain relief clamp for 5.0 to 7.0mm cables.
OKW can customise the Datec-Control enclosures, offering services including CNC machining, lacquering, printing, laser marking, decor foils, special materials, EMC shielding and installation or assembly.
