Optical amplifier/splitter is for OpenVPX
For use in 6U OpenVPX platforms requiring signal distribution over fibre, VadaTech has introduced the VPX981 optical amplifier/splitter module.
An optical signal received from front-panel LC1 is amplified then split to provide 92 outputs (90 to the rear via multi-fibre MT ferrules and two to the front via a small form LC ultra physical contact (UPC) connectors). Fibre output to the backplane is via VITA 66.1 connectors, a high-density, blind-mate optical interconnect.
Power matching between outputs is within +/- 1dB and all optical I/O is over single-mode 1551 nm fibres. The module draws power from the P0 connector which also provides a serial port for control. The VT981 is suitable for environments requiring MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-167-1A, such as rugged embedded computing, radar and electronic warfare systems.
