PEM adds to CWT HF family of clip-around Rogowski probes
At PCIM Europe 2022, PEM will introduce the CWTMini50HF CWT Rogowski current probes. The high speed, high voltage CMR, AC current measurement is available in a variety of coil sizes.
PEM’s CWT Rogowski current probes have provided engineers a convenient, wide-bandwidth, accurate and low insertion impedance method of measuring alternating currents.
Its CWT HF family of probes meet the challenges of measuring current in today’s renewable and power electronic applications. They attenuate interference from fast local voltage transients and retain a small size while the optimised high frequency (HF) performance measures rapidly changing AC currents.
The CWTMini50HF is available with a coil size of just 100mm, 3.5mm thick with a rise time capability of 12.5ns. This makes it suitable for the challenging environment of converters using new power SiC semiconductor switches, advised PEM.
The CWTHF – with coils from 300 to 1,000mm or longer are used for measurements in applications as diverse as high frequency bearing current in machine shafts, lightning strikes and pulsed power applications and power measurement in large motor drives.
Engineers always need to understand the benefits and limitations of any measurement, and so PEM has prepared a number of detailed technical notes relating to the CWT HF family. The company provides advice on best practice, practical measurements showing the performance in real world applications and useful information on inherent probe delay, rise-time capability, slew rate and bandwidth.
PEM (Power Electronic Measurements) designs and manufactures wide bandwidth current measuring devices based on Rogowski technology. The company is committed to continuous technological and product development.
Founded in 1991, PEM has pioneered the general purpose wide-band Rogowski transducer and continues to provide Rogowski transducers across a broad range of applications and industries, providing advice and support to engineers with current measurement challenges.
The company exports to over 50 countries worldwide and counts many of the world’s leading engineering companies and research institutions as its customers. Offering a number of standard product ranges to meet a wide variety of customers’ requirements, PEM also provides custom solutions, from one off designs to volume OEM products.
