Polymer capacitor boasts lowest ESR, says Panasonic Industry Europe
Where a minimal ESR is the primary consideration, Panasonic Industry Europe recommends its SP-Cap capacitor. It has three mOhm equivalent series resistance (ESR), which is claimed to be the lowest for this technology in the market today. This makes the polymer technology suitable for microprocessor-based assemblies, says Panasonic.
SP-CAP’s specifications enable them to be used in complex, low-profile electronic devices, with capacitance up to 820 microF and a ripple current capacity up to 10.200mA rms.
Both of these parameters are an indictors of reliability, says Shahrokh Kananizadeh, product manager of Panasonic Industry Europe. Additionally, the SP-Cap can be used to replace multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) and pure tantalum capacitors by requiring fewer number of parts mounted on PCBs.
The SP-Cap portfolio is able to operate reliability within a wide temperature range, says the company.
