Power IC is specifically for low power, high performance power duties
The EPIC (Eggtronic Power Integrated Controller) family has been specifically designed to provide low power, cost-optimised operation in high performance AC/DC power converters, wireless power transfer and power management designs.
The ICs are based on low power processors that range from inexpensive 8bit to high-performance 32bit RISC-V cores. A patented internal interconnection matrix allows dynamic configuration of multiple “virtual ASICs” inside the controller, which run simultaneously and work as independent high-performance controllers.
The family includes primary and secondary side ZVS (zero voltage switching) controllers for applications ranging from USB PD 3.1 and fixed output power adapters without power factor correction (PFC) to integrated PFC + LLC devices for high efficiency power in home appliances, TV panels and computers.
According to Eggtronic, EPIC technologies improve the efficiency of wireless power transfer and charging with transmitters and receivers that support both WPC Qi 1.3 and higher power transfer to 10kW.
EPIC controllers are compatible with every Eggtronic proprietary technology, including QuarEgg, SmartEgg, ClassEgg and E2WATT wired and wireless converters.
The EPIC devices will be demonstrated at CES in Las Vegas, USA (05 to 08 January 2023) in the Venetian, Suite 29-310.
Eggtronic was founded in 2012, specialising in power converters and wireless power. Based in San Francisco, USA, Modena, Italy, Taipei, Taiwan and Guangzhou, China, the company develops environmentally friendly and energy-efficient technologies and has more than 300 international patents granted worldwide.
In 2020, the company launched its ICs division and has been producing microchips since 2021.
