Richardson RFPD adds ADI’s family of 5G dual-channel receiver front ends
Distributor Richardson RFPD, an Arrow Electronics company, now offers the ADRF554x family of RF and millimetre wave front end modules from Analog Devices. The distributor also offers full design support capabilities for the multi-chip modules.
The dual-channel receiver front-end modules are designed for time division duplexing (TDD) applications that operate from 2.4 to 4.2GHz (ADRF5545A), 3.7 to 5.3GHz (ADRF5547) and 1.8 to 2.8GHz (ADRF5549). All of the devices are configured in dual channels with a cascading two-stage low noise amplifier (LNA) and a high-power silicon single pole double throw (SPDT) switch.
The front end modules also have on-chip bias and matching and single supply operation. Their characteristics make them suitable for wireless infrastructure, TDD massive multiple input and multiple output and active antenna systems, and TDD-based communication system applications.
The ADRF5545A has a typical gain of 32dB at 3.6GHz in high gain mode and 16dB (typical) in low gain mode. The ADRF5547 has 33dB (typical) gain at 4.6GHz in high gain mode and 18dB (typical) in low gain mode. For the ADRF5549, gain is 35dB (typical) at 2.3GHz in high gain mode and 17dB typical in low gain mode.
Noise figures are 1.45dB (typical) at 3.6GHz for the ADRF5545A, 1.6dB (typical) at 4.6GHz (ADRF5547) and 1.4dB (typical) at 2.3GHz (ADRF5549).
Insertion loss is low, 0.65dB typical at 3.6GHz for the ADRF5545A, 0.5dB (typical) at 4.6GHz for the ADRF5547 and 0.6dB (typical) at 2.3GHz for the ADRF5549.
All are provided in a 6.0 x 6.0mm, 40-lead LFCSP.
