Richardson RFPD adds Analog Devices’ integrated dual RF transceiver
The ADRV9002 operates from 30 to 6000MHz and is designed for bandwidth ranging from 12kHz to 40MHz.
Richardson RFPD offers full design support capabilities for the dual narrowband/wideband RF transceiver.
The ADRV9002 has dual-channel transmitters, dual-channel receivers, integrated synthesisers, and digital signal processing (DSP) functions. It is claimed to deliver a versatile combination of high performance and low power consumption required by battery-powered radio equipment. It can operate in both frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD) modes.
The IC covers the UHF, VHF, licensed and unlicensed cellular bands, and industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) bands. It can support both narrowband (12kHz) and wideband standards up to 40MHz bandwidth on both receive and transmit.
The ADRV9002 dual RF transceiver is designed for mission-critical communications, for both network and terminal equipment as well as FDD and TDD applications.
The IC has serial interface links that consist of low voltage differential signalling (LVDS) and CMOS synchronous serial interface (CSSI). It has low power monitor and sleep modes and multichip synchronisation capabilities. It also supports various forms of fast frequency hopping (FFH) and has a dynamic profile switching for dynamic data rates and sample rates.
The device, which is part of ADI’s RadioVerse design and ecosystem, has fully integrated digital pre-distortion for narrowband and wideband waveforms and is fully programmable via a four-wire serial peripheral interface (SPI).
It is supplied in a 12 x 12mm, 196-ball CSP-BGA package.
