Richardson RFPD offers Fractus Antennas’ antenna booster
Design support for the Duo mXtend is offered by Richardson RFPD, an Arrow Electronics company. The dual-band GNSS/Bluetooth embedded antenna is from Fractus Antennas.
The Duo mXtend antenna booster is suitable for constrained spaces. It has an average efficiency of at least 60 per cent at 1561MHz, above 70 per cent at 1575MHz and at least 60 per cent at 1598 to 1606MHz. The Duo mXtend has peak gain of 1.6dBu at 1561MHz, 1.8dBi at 1575MHz and 1.1dBi at 1598 to 1606MHz.
It is characterised by an omnidirectional radiation pattern to track satellite signals regardless of the relative position, attitude and orientation of the tracking device. It operates across a wide temperature range of -40 to 125 degrees C.

Fractus Antennas offers a free design service that will test the Duo mXtend in a given device. The NN Wireless Fast-Track service promises a 24-hour turnaround of a chip antenna design and custom matching network for the device.
The Duo mXtend is part of a new generation of antenna solutions based on Fractus Antennas’ Virtual Antenna technology. This Virtual Antenna technology enables replacing conventional and custom antennae with antenna boosters, including miniature and off-the-shelf chip antenna components. The Duo mXtend, multi-band, multi-purpose chip antennae fit in a variety of wireless platforms for simpler, faster and less expensive designs when compared with custom solutions.
According to Richardson RFPD, the Duo mXtend also incorporates a revolutionary design approach that eliminates the need for clearance area beyond its already-reduced footprint. The combination of these two miniaturising features makes Duo mXtend suitable for small and portable tracking devices, further eliminating the need for custom antenna development.
The miniature, high-efficiency antenna can be optimised for a variety of requirements through external matching networks. It is suitable for GPS/GALILEO/GLONASS/BeiDou modules, smart tracking devices, sport navigators, handsets and smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, and smart watches and other wearable devices.
