RTC-710AP is most rugged tablet yet, says Aaeon
Introduced as part of the RTC range of rugged mobile tablet PCs, the RTC-710AP is Aaeon’s most comprehensive, multi-purpose rugged tablet yet, said the company.
The tablet shares the RTC family’s rugged hardware and is more versatile than other tablets currently available, said Aaeon, despite its small form factor of 8.65 x 5.46 x 0.94 inch (219.8 x 138.8 x 23.9mm).
The tablet runs on a Microsoft Windows operating system and has onboard Wi-Fi and a longer battery life to optimise use in the field. It has an ergonomic design with five physical function keys and is also equipped with an NFC reader, 2Mpixel front camera, 8Mpixel rear camera and an I/O expansion module. The RTC-710AP is designed for easy customisation and application, supporting up to three global satellite navigation system (GNSS) options, a 2D barcode scanner together with LAN and UART support.
For mobile computing, in addition to on-board Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, it is equipped with 8Gbyte LPDDR4 system memory and 64Gbyte eMMC storage. The level of integration means that the space-efficient RTC-710AP has room for USB 3.2, USB 2.0, and Nano SIM card slots as well as an optional I/O module for bespoke feature selection.
The rugged and durable RTC-710AP is IP65-rated and MIL-STD-810G shock-, vibration- and drop-resistant. A large 32.7W lithium-ion battery and 11.3W hot-swappable battery maximises both use and mobility, said Aaeon.
Established in 1992, Aaeon designs and manufactures industrial IoT and AI edge computing products. It provides industrial motherboards and systems, rugged tablets, embedded AI Edge systems, uCPE network appliances and LoRaWAN / WWAN products.
The company works with OEM and ODM services worldwide and with cities and governments to develop and deploy smart city ecosystems as well as with premier chip designers to deliver stable, reliable platforms
