Rutronik complements portfolio with Knitter torodial common mode chokes

Through hole toroidal common mode chokes from knitter-inductive have been added to Rutronik’s product portfolio.

While one of the target applications is the e-mobility market, the main area of application is the suppression of EMC disturbances in one- and three-phase applications at nominal voltages of 230 and 400V AC, said the distributor.

These interferences can occur in different frequency ranges, so knitter-inductive offers customised chokes as well as standard versions. Selecting the right part is crucial for the reliable performance of the components, added Rutronik, which advises customers to contact it for availability and ordering options.

Customisation begins with the appropriate selection of the required core material. The options are manganese-zinc which is suitable for low frequency applications, nickel-zinc which is recommended for higher frequencies while a nano-crystalline core can cover both ranges.

The nano-crystalline core is significantly smaller in size, said Rutronik yet has the same current rating and is compatible with operation in high ambient temperatures.

For even further customisation, toroidal common-mode chokes allow horizontal as well as vertical mounting plate attachment of the core. Higher dielectric strength is achieved by adding a separator. It is also possible to choose the PCB layout according to requirements.
