Softing Industrial extends gateway functionalities for IoT integration
Access to Profibus DP networks independent of the controller is now possible with the smartLink HW-DP gateway from Softing Industrial. It allows easy integration of industry 4.0 applications into the Profibus and Hart systems, said Softing.
The latest, version 1.30 offers extended functions for data transmission and connectivity.
The compact smartLink HW-DP integrates seamlessly without disrupting the operation of existing installations, said Softing. It offers industry 4.0 connectivity for both new and existing Profibus DP networks and enables easy and scalable integration of device data into plant asset management applications.
Version 1.30 provides support for Endress+Hauser Netilion and FieldEdge SGC500 gateway. There is the option to operate in parallel with Endress+Hauser FieldCare.
It also provides an extended Hart IP server to add information about the remote I/O level and improved visualisation of the physical network in the Emerson AMS Device Manager.
Users can upgrade a communications infrastructure for IoT use using the smartLink HW-DP, advised Softing. Relevant data for optimisation processes are available for higher level applications via open, standardised interfaces such as Hart IP and FDT. This enables the use of any HART IP client, such as Emerson AMS Device Manager, to parameterise, monitor, and analyse field devices via these open communication standards.
Softing Industrial connects disparate automation components to feed data from the factory floor to the cloud for control and analytics. Its products enable the monitoring and diagnosis of communication networks to ensure a reliable data flow. In this way, they create the basis for the optimisation of production processes, said the company.
