Surface mount female headers reduce PCB height
To maintain the low height needed for connected PCBs in the limited space of electronics end products, W+P Products has introduced the surface mount, female header series 6067. It has a small pitch and low heights and is pluggable from above.
The 6067 header has a 1.27mm pitch and the height can be either 3.6 or 4.5mm.
The double row, vertically oriented connectors offer six to 100 contacts. The contact surface is gold-plated and the contact resistance is less than 20 mOhm, with a current rating of 1 A.
For aligning on the PCB in a defined position, the header has alternatively available locating pegs. There are optional coding lugs to provide reverse polarity protection and prevent incorrect mating.
W+P Products also supply compatible box headers, the surface mount series 6110 and 6111, which are also available as vertical versions. All other W+P Products’ pin headers with 1.27mm pitch are compatible.
Packaging is tape and reel suitable for an automated reflow process. The surface mount headers operate over a wide temperature range, with guaranteed functionality at -40 to +105 degrees C, says the company.
The series 6067 header can be used wherever a compact design is required, for example industrial electronics, in industrial measurement and control systems as well as mechanical and plant engineering.
