Trumower integrates GaN FET in 450W power adapter
A fanless, compact AC/DC power adapter from Trumpower has dual medical and ITE safety approvals and integrates the company’s GaN technology.
The TGM450 450W GaN FET AC/DC power adapter has an average efficiency of up to 95 per cent. The compact and fanless power adapter complies to the latest medical 60601-1 and ITE 62368-1 approvals and is suitable for both industrial and medical applications.
Touch current is less than 100 microA and withstand voltages are 4,000V AC from input to output (providing 2xMOPP), 1,500V AC from input to ground (1xMOPP) and 1,500V AC from output to ground (1xMOPP). They are therefore suitable for BF (body floating) rated applications.
The versatile power adapters are available with four standard single output voltages of 12V (400W), 24V, 48V and 56V. Operating temperatures are between -20 to +60 degrees C ambient while derating linearly from 100 per cent load at +40 degrees C to 50 per cent load at +60 degrees C. They also operate at altitudes up to 5,000 meters. The power adapters are reliable with an MTBF of 300,000 hours minimum at full load, 25 degrees C ambient, calculated per Telecordia SR-332.
The power adapter is supplied in an enclosure measuring 10 x 4.57 x 1.85 inch (254 x 116 x 47mm) and are equipped with class I IEC 320/C14 AC inlet. The standard output connector for the 12V model is a Molex Mini-Fit receptacle (part number 39-01-2125) with Molex terminal (part number 45750-3111) with a cable length of 800mm. The standard output connector for the 24 to 56V output models is a Molex Mini-Fit receptacle (part number 39-01-2065) with Molex terminal (part number 45750-3111) with a cable length of 1,200mm.
The standard TGM450 series has separated AC ground and DC return, but it is available to be connected upon request.
