UR Group brings 5G rail-certified router to UK
A dual 5G, rail-certified cellular router by Net Module, a Belden company, is now available in the UK from URGroup. The NB3800 cellular router has dual 5G radios, four sims, five Ethernet ports and GNSS. It is part of the manufacturer’s range of routers for on-board mobile network data and voice communication for the off-train mobile comms gateway (MCG) by Net Module.
It is modular and suitable for multiple on-board applications which demand a high standard of performance and security, said URGroup. The NB3800 cellular router can be used for passenger Wi-Fi and for offloading data at the depot. The router offers expansion options, such as GSM-R, GNSS, CAN, IBIS, digital I/O, RS-232, RS-485, 1 TB SSD and audio. It can also be used in edge computing when combined with software development kit (SDK) -based or virtualisation-based programming, advised UR Group. In addition, 4×4 MIMO antennas can be retrofitted for future 5G product variants.
The range of on-board comms offerings from Net Module include the AP3400 access point and the ES3300 managed switch. All products have a five-year warranty.
