Water-cooled laser diode coolers require smallest surfaces
Two additions to the curamik cooler family have been announced by the Rogers Power Electronics Solutions (PES) group.
According to the company, these water-cooled laser diode coolers efficiently derive the heat from powerful laser diodes on the smallest surfaces. They also improve performance efficiency, says the company.
The curamik CoolPower Plus and CoolEasy coolers are manufactured from OFHC copper and a highly conductive ceramic substrate. This combination, says Rogers PES, produces a precisely controllable co-efficient of thermal expansion (CTE).
The CoolPower Plus coolers are produced from several layers of pure copper and manufactured in the company’s curamik bonding process in order to achieve hermetic, multi-layer structures without solder or additional adhesive layers, explains Rogers PES. The curamik cooling products are also used for cooling high-performance LED and lidar applications.
The company will demonstrate the coolers at Photonics West 2020 (1 to 6 February
