650V recovery rectifiers add to Nexperia’s CFP power diodes

Four 650V, 1.0A devices have been added to Nexperia’s portfolio of Clip-bonded FlatPower (CFP) packaged diodes for industrial and automotive applications. The four additions are available in CFP3 and CFP5 packages intended for use in onboard chargers (OBC) and inverters for electric vehicles, power converters, PV inverters, and power supplies in industrial applications. The standard products are the PNU65010ER (CFP3) and PNU65010EP (CFP5) and AEC-Q101 qualified products are the PNU65010ER-Q (CFP3) and PNU65010EP-Q (CFP5).

These automotive and industrial-grade rectifiers are claimed to provide the optimal tradeoff between fast soft switching behaviour and low forward voltage drop to help minimise power losses in high frequency applications. The small CFP footprint saves board space (compared to SMA/B packaged devices), for high density designs without compromise regarding electrical performance.

Nexperia continues to invest heavily in expanding its capacity to match the growing market demand for CFP-packaged products. To address the needs of a wide range of high voltage power applications, Nexperia intends to develop its portfolio of 650V (up to 30A) recovery rectifiers in surface mount packaging. For products with a current rating over 10A, there will be the option of ‘ultrafast’ or ‘hyperfast’ switching products in a choice of forward voltage specifications.

The first parts with higher current ratings of 2.0 and 3.0A in CFP packaging are planned for release in Q1 2023. Further releases in DPAK / D2PAK are scheduled for later in the year and over the course of 2024. Standard and automotive-qualified versions will be available.

Nexperia says it produces semiconductors required by every electronic design in the world. The company’s portfolio includes diodes, bipolar transistors, ESD protection devices, MOSFETs, GaN FETs and analogue and logic ICs.

The company’s headquarters are in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Nexperia annually ships more than 100 billion products, meeting the stringent standards set by the automotive industry, which are recognised as benchmarks in efficiency in process, size, power and performance, according to Nexperia and with industry-leading small packages to save energy and space.

Nexperia has employees across Asia, Europe and the USA and is a subsidiary of Wingtech Technology, with an extensive IP portfolio and is certified to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
