6U chassis has up to 12 VPX slots and fibre optic I/O

Provision for fibre management and stress relief is an integral part of the design of the latest embedded board from VadaTech. The VTX350 is a 6U VPX chassis with up to 12 6U VPX slots and provision for dual power modules for field deployment. The chassis can accept 0.8, 0.85 and 1.0-inch (20.3, 21.5 and 25.4mm) pitch modules.

The initial backplane provides eight 6U VPX payload slots and complies to VITA 46.0 baseline specification with additional support to the rear transition modules (RTMs), compliant to VITA 46.10 and OpenVPX VITA65. There is also an optional chassis manager (VPX980) which can include a JTAG switch module (JSM) with JTAG routed to payload slots. Each payload slot supports up to six VITA 66.5 12-way fibre modules for high density fibre I/O. The chassis includes provision for fibre management and stress relief. According to VadaTech, this makes the VTX350 suitable for high-speed, high-I/O applications such as early warning and multi-mode radar. Chassis construction meets shock and vibration requirements per MIL-STD-810G.

The VTX350 requires airflow to be provided by the cabinet, and includes provision for airflow management over payload, power and switch/manager modules notes VadaTech.
