Evolution of the RJ Industrial MultiFeature interface means tool-free assembly
Claimed to be “significantly easier to assemble in the field” as it no longer requires a separate tool, the RJ Industrial interface, part of Harting’s MultiFeature series, meets customers’ requirements for simpler operation and field assembly capability, says the company.
The continued development of the RJ Industrial standard now offers tool-free assembly, with a robust metal housing and is claimed to be easier use. As well as being used to fix robust cable, an additional application area is AWG 26 to AWG 22 stranded wires, using features that simplify fitting and improve installation.
The classic RJ45 was developed for telecommunications and it did not always meet the demands of the industrial sector. The Harting RJ Industrial MultiFeature series is designed specifically to resist all the difficulties posed by harsh environments. Safe Cat. 6A performance and IP20 and IP65/67 housing paired with power over Ethernet (PoE) power supply variants IEEE802.3af (PoE 15.4W) / IEEE802.3at (PoE 25.5W) / IEEE802.3bt (PoE 100W) provides data and power for every device, continues Harting.
The robust metal housing provides a reliable Ethernet connection and its metal locking and tough strain relief make it suitable for industrial markets.
