PowerLok series for EVs by Amphenol is available from RS Components
Additions to the range of Amphenol PowerLok connectors have been announced by RS Components. The PowerLok 300 series completes the portfolio available from the distributor and makes RS a single source for all PowerLok connector needs, says the company.
The compact, metal-shell PowerLok series provides interconnect options and signal connections for electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid transportation applications. Accommodating up to four signal circuits and four power circuits, the connectors incorporate Amphenol’s RadSoK (Radial Socket) contact technology. This includes a flat, high conductivity alloy grid to provide robust, high density contact to the mating pin. According to RS, it offers a smooth, even engagement and force distribution, to ensure the connectors deliver enhanced durability and contribute to performance levels in applications with high levels of vibration.
The PowerLok 300 series is specifically for applications with cable current ratings of 150A, 200A, 250A or 300A. Models are available to accommodate corresponding cable sizes ranging from 35mm to 95mm. Like all PowerLok connectors, the Series 300 models offer high cycle durability and are equipped with an automatic secondary lock as standard. This prevents unintentional loosening of the contact, advises RS.
There is a choice of keyed, straight or right-angled configurations, as well as 360 degree shielding and environmental sealing options. The PowerLok Series is designed to fit virtually any electric vehicle system design requirement. Connectors can be specified with six or two keys to meet requirements for one, two or three position operation. The slimline profile means they are particularly suited to applications where space is at a premium. The connectors are rated IP67 when engaged.
The complete Amphenol PowerLok Series is available now from RS in the EMEA region.
