Kemet says nanocrystalline single-phase filter design has superior EMI attenuation

Filters which suppress excess EMI generated from power lines within 250V AC single-phase electrical systems make up the GTX series from Kemet, part of Yageo Group.

The plastic box single-phase filters contain a nanocrystalline core, which offers higher permeability and lower losses than ferrite material cores found in other EMI filters, says Kemet. This nanocrystalline core allows for a compact, lightweight and high-density design resulting in the highest attenuation capability and smallest volumetric package compared to other EMI filters now available in the market, continues Kemet.

Left unchecked, conducted electromagnetic noise may cause disruption in a circuit or electronic components in power supply systems.

According to Kemet, the design of the GTX not only uses less circuit board space but also improves performance in single-phase power supply systems for commercial, industrial, and medical applications. The GTX series offers five rated current ranges (6.0 to 30A) which can be paired with six Class-Y capacitors, resulting in 30 different component combinations supporting general purpose inverters in machine tools, welders, 3D printers, and other industrial applications.

The GTX plastic box single-phase filters are available immediately via Kemet distributors.

Kemet is a subsidiary of Yageo and is part of the Yageo Group. The company provides a range of electromechanical devices, electromagnetic compatibility solutions and supercapacitors.

The Yageo Group provides passive components and claims to offer the broadest selection of passive component technologies from some of the industry’s most recognised brands. It has a portfolio of chip resistors, polymer, tantalum, MLCC, film and aluminium electrolytic capacitors, circuit protection devices, magnetics, antennae, sensors, and actuators.
