A new twist on EV charging – magnetic connectors by Rosenberer
Two magnetic power charging connectors by Rosenberger are designed for charging applications in vehicles. The MagCode magnetic power charging connectors are for 12V and 24V.
The MagCode Power System and MagCode Power System Pro which has an additional mechanical twist lock are short circuit-proof, said Rosenberger. The self-finding magnetic systems can be used, for example, to charge secondary batteries in luxury vehicles, campers, rescue vehicles and boats, or to supply power to mobile coolers or coffee makers.
The MagCode system consists of a PowerPort for connection to the power source, e.g. cigarette lighter in the vehicle, and a PowerClip for connecting external devices.
An additional twist lock mechanism is included in the MagCode Power System Pro for higher current loads up to 25A. Higher separation forces safeguard potential arcing problems to be eliminated.
