Aaeon’s Gene-SKU6 W1 board expands temperature support
Equipped to handle harsh, unstable conditions, the Gene-SKU6 W1 is a 3.5-inch sub-compact board, introduced by Aaeon.
When hardware is used for outdoor, factory automation, or in-vehicle applications, the maintaining a stable DC input cannot be guaranteed, says Aaeon. Businesses cannot afford systems to shut down, and need computers that can withstand power fluctuations and keep on running. This is the company’s explanation for the introduction of the Gene-SKU6 W1. It has a DC input range of 9.0 to 36V, so it takes power drops and spikes in its stride and continues operating, assures Aaeon.
The rugged, sub-compact board is also guaranteed to run smoothly in environments as cold as -20 and as hot as 70 degrees C. This capability is achieved through intelligent design, low-power components, and an effective heatsink, which allows the Gene-SKU6 W1 to function as a reliable, fanless board, explains Aaeon.
A powerful graphics package supports 4K resolution and independent DP, DVI, and LVDS display outputs. There is also a Mini-card and mSATA slots, four USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, four COM ports, and an additional board-to-board interface enabling the implementation of a daughterboard with even more I/O ports. Aaeon describes the Gene-SKU6 W1 as being tailor-made for customers who want to quickly add functionality without investing in R&D.
