Accessory for panel mount joins HEC series from binder

The HEC (Harsh Environment Connector) series 696 from binder now includes an accessory for panel mount applications sealing on the inside of the panel designed for sealing the single wires at the connection side and offers protection against dust and humidity.

The HEC UL circular connector series is designed to provide high resistance to salt spray, temperature fluctuations, ozone and other pollutants.

The latest addition consists of a set of seals accommodating wires of 2.5 to 6.0mm (AWG 14-10), a pressing screw and a ring which, when fitted, meets IP67. The latest HEC connector model is specifically designed for five-pole (four + PE) panel mount connectors.

The connector’s design features a secure, three-point fast locking mechanism that prevents incorrect orientation. The use of crimp contacts makes for a vibration-proof termination, claims binder, which adds that the HEC connectors are good for ove 1000 mating cycles making them suited to applications that require frequent connecting.

The family-owned company, binder, specialises in industrial circular connectors. It is based in Neckarsulm, Germany, and has offices in Germany, Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, Sweden, the Netherlands, China, Singapore and the USA.
