Advantech joins Micron’s IQ program for industrial AIoT

IoT intelligent systems supplier, Advantech, has joined Micron’s Industrial Quotient (IQ) Partner Program.

Micron’s memory and storage products and processor technology are suitable for industrial IoT areas that prioritise minimising unanticipated downtime, like factory automation, surveillance, smart transportation, and server applications. Micron DDR4 unbuffered and registered DIMMs, SATAIII and U.2 PCIe 3D NAND TLC SSDs are qualified with Advantech systems.

Advantech SKY server, industrial PC, and edge computers are widely used in many mission-critical applications, such as medical equipment, smart manufacturing, transportation control system, environment and energy. Its SKY-6000 GPU server is used for artificial intelligence (AI) deep learning and edge inference and its SKY-8000 is a carrier-grade server for telecomms applications. HPC and ASMB servers are focused on medical imaging systems and automated optical inspection (AOI) systems for manufacturing in the sensitive semiconductor industry.

For edge workstations, the MIC-770 fanless compact system is used in electronic manufacturing, electronic toll collection, face recognition and autonomous vehicles, all of which require system reliability and revision control. The SKY server and MIC series are now validated with Micron SSD memory to provide the least amount of maintenance and downtime for customers, says Advantech.

“The industrial IoT continues to transform the world of manufacturing . . . it is changing how industrial solutions are being designed, which now require more coordination and collaboration in technology and product development. The IQ Partner Program enables us to work in partnership with a company like Advantech to deliver high-quality, robust, and long-lasting industrial-grade computing systems for the market,” said Kris Baxter, vice president of Embedded Business Marketing at Micron.

Advantech Cloud IoT Group helps service providers and enterprises extend network function virtualisation from the core to the edge by providing scalable compute platforms that execute virtual network functions anywhere in the network. Advantech’s white-box uCPEs for SD-WAN and white-box servers based on Intel architecture are supported by a software ecosystem and supply chain, offering key foundational building blocks that accelerate network transformation.
