AEG Power Solutions optimises maintenance with Protect RCS TPRe TD

Extending the Protect RCS TPRe charger series, AEG Power Solutions has added a version dedicated to transmission and distribution applications. The Protect RCS TPRe TD is a rectifier charger in a compact housing.

Based on the RCS TPRe proven technology, the “TD” version is a thyristor-controlled premium rectifier battery charger suitable for charging nickel-cadmium or lead-acid batteries while supplying DC loads. It is suitable for use in harsh environmental conditions. For ease of customisation, options have been designed as specific plug-ins which can be ordered separately.

The Protect RCS TPRe TD has been developed to offer an optimised and economic power protection in a more compact housing, simplifying handling and maintenance, says AEG. The system provides high reliability power supply and battery charging capability. The rectifier is fitted inside a very compact cabinet and can be equipped with optional electrical and mechanical items in order to comply with most of the transmission and distribution specifications. It can also be connected to an inverter in order to deliver a safe AC supply. The cabinet is floor mounted and can be customised to meet specific environmental requirements. The batteries are mounted in freestanding racks or cabinets.

Protect RCS TPRe TD is offered pre-configured with some of the most commonly requested features built-in as standard, such as halogen free wires and cables, common fault remote alarm, or tropicalised control electronic boards.

The standard system can be enhanced with additional options already integrated into standard drawing packages and user documentation. In addition to the factory implemented features, some options are based on plug-in concept. They can be ordered separately, delivered as separate kits and easily added to the system by downloading documentation and instruction directly online.

Protect RCS TPRe TD systems are available now from local AEG Power Solution distributors or directly via one of the company’s entities.
