Amphenol RF adds tamper-resistant models to SMA bulkhead jacks

Tamper-resistant SMA bulkhead jacks have been added to Amphenol RF’s range of SMA panel mount connectors. The durable and compact SMA bulkhead jacks are designed to accommodate various flexible micro-coax cable types.

They are designed to offer vibration resistance and have tamper-resistant capabilities, making them beneficial for use within an enclosure in a public space. Suitable applications are where space is limited, for example, drones, test and measurement equipment, industrial automation and inspection as well as Bluetooth and cellular technology.

The SMA front mount bulkhead jacks are constructed with gold-plated, brass bodies and gold-plated, beryllium copper contacts. This interconnect offers reliable electrical performance up to 6GHz and features a threaded coupling mechanism that ensures uniform contact of the outer conductors, says Amphenol.

The SMA connectors have been added to Amphenol RF’s portfolio of RF connector types designed to terminate to various micro-coax cables. Its panel mount SMA connectors can be fastened on the inside of a panel or enclosure to provide additional security for sensitive systems. They can be used in conjunction with pre-configured RF cable assemblies that are routed within the system to mate with the SMA interface.

Amphenol RF manufactures coaxial connectors for use in radio frequency, microwave, and data transmission system applications. The company is headquartered in Danbury, Connecticut, USA and has sales, marketing and manufacturing locations in North America, Asia and Europe.

Standard products include RF connectors, coaxial adapters and RF cable assemblies. Custom engineered products include multi-port ganged interconnect, blind mate and hybrid mixed-signal solutions.
