Anglia adds LG OLED lighting portfolio
Anglia has added LG’s OLED range to its portfolio of lighting solutions based on the organic technology. OLEDs provide a natural and pleasant light with low glare, no UV, low blue content and very little heat emission.
As a result of the distribution agreement, Anglia is able to supply the Luflex light panels made by LG. The OLED-based panel design provides a thin, lightweight and sometimes flexible light source. It offers a uniform surface light, reducing the hard-edged shadows from other types of light source that can cause eye fatigue.
Luflex panels emit just 10 per cent of the amount of blue light emitted by typical LED lighting sources that have the same nominal colour temperature and luminance. The panels are designed to be ultra-thin, down to 0.51mm for flexible panels and 0.91mm for rigid. They are also light-weight: 20g for a rigid 100 x 100mm surface. The flexible panel type has a natural contour, helping with attachment to curved surfaces. These features allow novel design concepts and new possibilities for artists, designers and architects, says Anglia.
“Anglia understands lighting. They have a track record of partnering with top customers on demanding lighting projects and succeeding with them. We believe that they are exactly the right partner to take our exceptionally innovative lighting technologies to the UK market, and to help designers and installers create installations that look impressive and are tuned to the health and comfort of users,” said Grzegorz Krol, manager of OLED light sales for LG OLED Light.
John Bowman, marketing director at Anglia, said: “The addition of LG OLED Light allows us to offer our customers the solutions they need to build the next generation of human-centric lighting for commercial and domestic premises. Anglia has been supplying and supporting the solid state lighting industry for more than 10 years, providing a broad range of products with the emphasis on inventory, technical support and design guidance.”
