Anglia Components signs exclusive agreement with Alexander Battery Technologies

Custom battery pack specialist, Alexander Battery Technologies has signed Anglia Components as its first distributor.

The independent authorised UK distributor of electronic components has signed a distribution agreement with Alexander Battery Technologies (ABT), a UK manufacturer of custom battery packs.

Anglia will become ABT’s exclusive distribution partner in the UK and Ireland. ABT offers customised battery packs for OEM customers, including lithium-ion, NiMH and primary batteries for medical equipment, power tools, communications, test, defence and robotics.

Anglia customers will have direct access to ABT’s custom battery pack design and assembly service and will be supported by Anglia’s technical teams who have been trained on ABT’s full capabilities.

Mark Rutherford, managing director at Alexander Battery Technologies, admitted the company thought carefully before taking the step of appointing a distributor. ABT’s custom approach can be difficult to present effectively to customers. He said that Anglia demonstrated that its technical team “is fully capable of providing the high level of support required” and, combined with its customer reach “with technical and sales support which is second to none” he said the company was enthusiastic about the signing.

John Bowman, marketing director at Anglia, was also excited about the partnership. “The ABT engagement allows us to extend our support to customers who have specific battery packs requirements, such as removable battery packs and those used in harsh applications that need to be more robust. Furthermore, the company’s ISO 13485 medical approval enhances our capabilities to assist with medical designs.” ABT is also certified to ISO 9001.

Alexander Battery Technologies designs and assembles all its battery packs, including the battery management systems, in the UK.
