Anti-vandal piezo switches have lamination options

Anti-vandal illuminated and non-illuminated piezo switches have been announced by TE Connectivity. AVP series switches are intended for use in applications as wide ranging as industrial control products, communication equipment and medical equipment. The AVP switches are offered in a selection of sizes, with bushing diameters of 16, 19 and 22mm.

The switches are strong and sturdy, says TE, with no moving parts, which reduces wear. They are also claimed to dissipate heat very efficiently, are corrosion-resistant and rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. The AVP switches have long leads of 500mm, which help make them easy to install, adds TE.

Other specifications include, momentary actuation (pulse 200milliseconds minimum) and an operating lifetime up to 50 million cycles. Button options are flat, high flat and concave types. All switches in the AVP series have a contact rating of 5 to 24V DC for 1.0A or 5 to 24V AC for 1A.

For more than 75 years, TE Connectivity has produced connectivity and sensor solutions that operate in the harshest environments. The products are used in transportation, industrial applications, medical technology, energy, data communications, and the home. TE has 80,000 employees, including more than 8,000 engineers, working alongside customers in approximately 140 countries.
