Arrow Electronics signs resell agreement with Quuppa for location systems
Real time location specialist, Quuppa, has signed an agreement with Arrow Electronics, to resell the Finish company’s products and services.
Quuppa’s Intelligent Locating System is claimed to provide tracking of tags and devices to within a few centimetres and with millisecond latency. The technology is used in indoor tracking applications, where its combination of cost-effective and reliability is used in a range of areas from industry and healthcare to retail and security.
The locating system is scalable and features an open API that simplifies integration with existing and future systems, said Arrow. Inbuilt telemetry and monitoring removes the need for active maintenance. The long-lasting tags and ease of deployment also contribute to minimise the cost of ownership, added the company.
Real time location technology is used in industrial settings to enable a safer and more efficient workplace – users can track assets and alert personnel to potential dangers. In the healthcare sector, not only can medical equipment be automatically tracked, but also vulnerable patients. In sporting applications, the Quuppa technology is used to track the position of ice hockey players and the puck in training.
Commenting on the agreement, Sammy Loitto, CEO of Quuappa, said:“This is an exciting opportunity for us to expand the Quuppa customer base and sales reach via Arrow’s network in the EMEA region”.
“Location services are being adopted across many markets, and the addition of Quuppa’s portfolio gives our customers further choice and flexibility in their product designs,” added Matthias Hutter, vice president product management and supplier marketing EMEA, Arrow Electronics.
