Artesyn’s compact brick offers 97.3 per cent efficiency
High voltage applications are served by Artesyn’s AIF06ZPFC series, available from Components Bureau.
The compact brick is approximately the size of a smartphone, says the company. It can be used for a range of applications including medical devices, unmanned aerial, rough terrain vehicles and industrial applications where extreme heat and cold conditions are encountered.
The AIF06ZPFC module is rated at 2,400W and provides a nominal non-isolated output of 400V DC and 85 to 264V AC. The encapsulated design incorporates a thermal baseplate and the power factor correction (PFC) module has a very high-power density of 395W per inch3. It accommodates a baseplate operating temperature range of -20 to 100 degrees C and can start up from temperatures as low as -40 degrees C.
The AIF06ZPFC offers extensive monitoring, protection and adjustment capabilities, says the company. The built-in Power Management Bus (PMBus) interface provides a full suite of commands and controls including internal memory for user data storage. The interface enables digital communication with other connected factory software and applications for industry 4.0 applications.
The module also features a built-in, patented in-rush limit control function, which significantly simplifies application design for engineers by eliminating the standard industry requirement to provide this function with external equipment, explains Component Bureau.
Established in 1985, Components Bureau was acquired by Display Technology, the UK subsidiary of Fortec Elektronik in September 2018.
Components Bureau can offer AC/DC power supplies and DC/DC converters from leading brands. It is a dedicated specialist of power related components and converters. An extensive stock holding is available from the central Frankfurt hub and the UK headquarters.
