Automotive-grade inductors rely on robust core for high temperature operation
Shielded construction is at the heart of the design for three automotive-grade, high current shielded power inductors from Bourns. The SRP7028AA, SRP7050AA and SRP1038AA inductors have a metal alloy powder core for high rated current, low radiation, low buzz noise and a wide operating temperature range.
The inductors are designed to meet today’s high current density and high temperature requirements for power management and EMI filtering in DC/DC converters and power supplies in consumer, industrial, and telecomms electronics applications, explains Bourns.
All three inductors models are manufactured with a metal alloy powder core featuring low DC resistance, high heating / saturation current, low buzz noise, temperature stability and shielded construction for low magnetic field radiation. Compared to previous Bourns designs, the SRP7028AA, SRP7050AA and SRP1038AA series feature lower DCR, higher Irms current and a more robust core structure. They also have a higher saturation current rating. The inductos are AEC-Q200-compliant and have an operating temperature range from -55 to +155 degrees C.
The SRP7028AA, SRP7050AA and SRP1038AA series inductors are available now and are RoHS-compliant and halogen free.
Bourns manufactures and supplies position and speed sensors, circuit protection solutions, magnetic components, microelectronic modules, panel controls and resistive products. Bourns is headquartered in Riverside, California, USA, and it serves a range of markets, including automotive, industrial, consumer, communications, medical (low/medium risk) and audio.
