Avnet Silica signs SiTime for MEMS-based timing products in USA, Asia and EMEA
Avnet Silica has signed an agreement with MEMS-based precision timing company, SiTime is to add its products and technologies to the distributor’s portfolio of silicon timing products. Europe based Avnet Silica is an Avnet company.
The distribution deal extends a previous agreement between SiTime and Avnet in the US and Asia to cover the EMEA region.
SiTime specialises in MEMS-based precision timing products, used by 15,000 customers in 250 applications. SiTime has shipped more than two billion units worldwide. SiTime’s portfolio consists of oscillators, clock generators and resonators.
The SiTime devices are programmable to enable customers to differentiate their products. The company says its technology has advantages in terms of performance, size, power consumption and reliability. In addition, the MEMS-based technology is claimed to deliver industry-leading dynamic performance in harsh environments that have high shock, vibration, or rapid changes in temperature. Typical examples are environments in industrial, automotive or aerospace applications.
