Battery range targets security and the automated home

Designed for the wireless security and home automation markets, the CR123A battery range is manufactured by Ultralife Corporation and are distributed by Accutronics

The batteries support a number of portable and wireless applications and there is a choice of models to meet the criteria of various applications.

The CR123A, CR17335, CR17335-10 and CR17335SE are available in either a 1500mAh or 1800mAh capacities.

Althought the CR123A batteries were initially developed for SLR cameras, they are increasingly finding use in wireless security and home automation applications. The wireless security and home automation market is expected to reach $32 billion in 2022 and will reach more than 50 per cent of homes in the United States.

Ultralife has revised and improved its internal spiral construction to provide a higher capacity than is currently available in similar products on the market, claims the company. In addition to security and home automation equipment, the batteries can also be used in the connected devices in industrial environments, including the industrial IoT. Here, as in the home automation market, says Accutronics, it is essential that these batteries are reliable and high quality, as a sudden malfunction could result in the loss of essential data from the connected device.
