Bridgelux eliminates bond wires and plastic moulds with CSP LEDs

Chip scale package (CSP) LEDs made with Bridgelux’s flip chip and phosphor coating technologies have no bond wires or plastic moulds enabling them to be used for high dense clustering, tunable CCT and high luminous flux output.

In addition, said the company, the seamless and flexible assembly on boards enables customer-specific COBs (chip on boards) and modules for commercial, entertainment, industrial and outdoor lightings.

The LED family consists of operating current options from 0.5 to 7.0W maximum. The chip scale package is available in the form factor of 1.1, 1.3, 1.86, 2.3, and 2.7mm square for CCTs from 1800 to 6500K and with CRIs of 70, 80, 90 and 95.

Bridgelux said its CSP technology is optimised to deliver high efficacy at high current density. The CSP2727 4000K CRI 70 can deliver efficacy of 209lm per W at 350mA and 190lm per W at 700mA, respectively.

Bridgelux also offers customised CSP COBs, linear modules and flexible strips along with connectors, optics, wiring and/or electronics designed to accelerate CSP LED time to market and to simplify the supply chain. The compact size of the CSP LEDs, along with their performance can reduce the system costs. Additionally, CSP colour consistency across the beam angle enables high quality illumination across multiple applications.

The CSP LEDs include RGBW, F90 and Thrive (full spectrum) to its white CSP product family to give manufacturers and designers more choices” explained Dr Yi-Qun Li, CEO of Bridglux. “Our RGBW CSP solution is ideal for smart lighting applications, and our white tunable options are selectable along black body curve (BBC) from 2700K – 6500K in both CRI 90 and CRI 95,” he said.

The F90 and CSP Red use narrowband red phosphour converted technology to deliver what is claimed to be the highest CRI 90 and white tunable performance in the industry for residential, entertainment commercial lighting.

Thrive CSP uses Bridgelux patented broad blue technology, and it is believed to be the first full spectrum CSP product of its kind in the market.
