Bürklin adds Hammond’s 1552 series of handheld enclosures
Distributor Bürklin Electronics has announced the availability of the latest handheld enclosures from Hammond Electronics. The 1552 enclosures are initially available in six sizes. The IP54-rated UL94-V0 flame-retardant ABS enclosure is an ergonomic design that fits comfortably into the hand, enabling it to be used for long period in applications such as a machine controller or the control of an electric hoist, says Bürklin.
The end panels are removable for modification or for use with flying cables. There is also an alternative end panel with an integral rubberised cord protector and a strain relief bracket. There is also an optional wall mounted holder to store the enclosure when not in use.
The 1552 can also be used as a desktop enclosure. A recess for a membrane keyboard or a display is moulded in the top face and PCB standoffs are moulded in the base section. The top is secured to the base with four self-tapping colour-coded screws; snap closures are fitted to the centre of the longer units to prevent bowing.
Initial sizes are 50 x 70 x 22mm, 50 x 70 x 30mm, 50 x 110 x 22mm, 50 x 110 x 30mm, 50 x 150 x 22mm and 50 x 150 x 30mm. All are available as standard in black and grey with a satin texture.
The 1552 hand-held enclosures by Hammond Electronics are available directly from Bürklin, together with the 1557 series.
