Ceramic surface mount inductors from Würth Elektronik exceeds 300 models
The WE-KI ceramic surface mount technology inductors from Würth Elektronik now number over 300 models in four sizes, following the addition of ceramic inductor variants in 0603 and 0805 packages.
The portfolio comprises four sizes from 0402 to 1008 which are optionally available with ±2 and ±5 per cent tolerance. The latest inductors mean that the WE-KI series’ available inductance values range from 1.0 to 1800nH.
The surface mount ceramic inductors are aimed specifically at high frequency applications, for example in telecommunications and antenna matching.
The Antenna Matching Service offered by Würth Elektronik is an additional design service to help developers reliably optimise efficiency and range for a given project.
Compared to other technologies like multilayer ceramic inductors or thin-film inductors, WE-KI inductors offer a high Q factor and very high rated currents, claims Würth. WE-KI inductors are characterised by high thermal stability and are engineered specified for a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +125 degrees C. The highest possible specified self-resonant frequency extends to 12.5GHz. to help with selection of the appropriate device, Würth Elektronik provides Spice models (LT Spice and PSpice) for simulation of all variants.
Design kits for WE-KI, include sample collections of different value inductors. These “sorting boxes” are refilled by Würth Elektronik free of charge. Individual samples are also provided at any time. All products from the inductor series are available from stock without a minimum order quantity.
