Chip antenna crosses boundaries, says Fractus Antennas

Worldwide performance and connectivity is provided with the Run mXtend chip annetenna, says Fractus Antennas. The chip antenna component enables worldwide full performance and connectivity in all frequency bands of operation for the IoT, including NB-IoT, Sigfox, LoRa and Zigbee among others both licensed and unlicensed IoT standards.

While the antenna choice does not condition the frequency of operation, the customer can choose the operation frequency of the antenna, says Fractus Antennas, for one antenna, for any IoT frequency band. In addition to multi-band performance, the Run mXtend antenna booster is a miniature and off-the-shelf chip component that fits about all platform sizes and can be assembled in production on the PCB using conventional pick-and-place machinery, saving production costs and increasing quality and reliability to the final device, says Fractus Antennas.

The Run mXtend belongs to the company’s Virtual Antenna products range, focused on replacing conventional antennas with miniature and off-the-shelf components where the antenna can remain the same, for example, if there is a need to upgrade a device to a new standard (e.g. 4G to 5G), even future frequencies that are not working yet.

The Spanish company, Fractus Antennas, designs, manufactures and sells miniature, off-the-shelf antennas for smartphones, short-range wireless and connected IoT devices. Founded as an independent antenna product business in 2015, Fractus Antennas was born out of the main Fractus operation and combines a respected R&D team with proven manufacturing capabilities and scale to bring to market a new genera-on of antenna products to meet the mobile and wireless connectivity needs of OEMs.
