Cinch Connectivity adds three proprietary, self-fixture connectors
The Johnson / Cinch Connectivity range of Self-Fixture connectors has been extended by Cinch Connectivity Solutions, a Bel group company, with 2.92mm, 2.4mm and 1.85mm configurations. The proprietary, patented models join what are claimed to be the only self-fixture connector which saves customers time and money in the manufacturing process, as well as reducing the need to use a fixture.
Designed for industrial, medical, military and high-tech markets, the coax connectors use a proprietary design to accurately align and hold the centre contact to the circuit board plane. Connector legs tightly grip the standard 0.062 inch mil thick boards until the soldering operation is complete. They can be used in satellite communication equipment, GPS and phased array antennas, radar systems, remote sensing and metering and RFID tagging applications.
The new self-fixture parts are designed for ease of attaching connectors directly to co-planar waveguide circuit boards. They operate with return loss characteristics of up to 67GHz.
The 145-070-251 is the 2.92mm jack connector. The 147-0731-201 is a 2.4mm jack connector and the 148-0701-231 is the 1.85mm model. All three models are designed for PCBs up to 0.62 inch thick.
The new connectors in the SMA Self Fixture coax connector range are available through major distributors including Digi-Key, Newark and Mouser.
Cinch is a Bel group company. It designs, manufactures and markets a broad array of products that include circuit protection, connectors, cable assemblies, discrete components, magnetics and power supplies.
