CMOS clock buffers are low power and automotive-compliant

Automotive-compliant Hyperlink clock buffers from Diodes are designed for low power operation in ambient temperatures of up to 105 degrees C; typically found in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), infotainment applications and automotive gateways.

Complex clock trees, the result of increasingly complex systems in automotive design has led to an increase in demand for clock buffers that can deliver low jitter and low skew, while minimising system power.

The PI6C49CB01Q (one differential input, one single-ended output), the PI6C49CB02Q (one single-ended input, two single-ended outputs) and the PI6C49CB04xQ (one single-ended input, four single-ended outputs) are all implemented using a low-power CMOS process. All models in the Hyperlink clock buffer family operate from an input range of 1.5 and 3.3V. All clock inputs are aligned and synchronised to maintain low skew. The CMOS design introduces minimal phase noise, resulting in very low additive jitter, says Diodes.

All inputs and outputs are compatible with LVCMOS/LVTTL signal levels. The parts are qualified to AECQ-100 with full PPAP support and they are manufactured in IATF16949-certified facilities.

The Hyperlink devices are available now in an eight-pin SOIC package.

Diodes produces semiconductor products to companies in the consumer electronics, computing, communications, industrial and automotive markets. Its product portfolio includes discrete, analogue and mixed-signal products and packaging technology to meet customers’ needs.

It has worldwide operations in 25 sites, including engineering, testing, manufacturing, and customer service.
