Compact converters answer tough medical demands

Available from MicroPower Direct, the MA600MRWRI5 series is a family of compact, 6W DC/DC converters fully approved to EN 60601 third edition. These converters are designed to meet the stringent isolation, reinforced insulation and low leakage requirements of medical grade equipment.

Fifteen models operate from wide 2:1 inputs of 9 to 18, 18 to 36, and 36 to 75 VDC and provide single and dual outputs of 5, 12, 15, ±12 or ±15 VDC. Standard features include efficiency to 89 per cent, an I/O isolation of 5,000 Vrms, 2-microA maximum leakage current, input filtering that meets EN 55011 fourth edition, and reinforced insulation. Other features include continuous short circuit protection, input under voltage shutdown and overload protection. All models are approved to EN 60601 third edition. The MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) of the MA600MRWRI5 series is greater than 4.667 Mhours.

All models of the MA600MRWRI5 family are packaged in a  miniature 24-Pin DIP case. The pin-out is industry standard. All models are specified for operation over the operating temperature range of -40 degrees C to +95 degrees C ambient with no heat sinking required.

The MA600MRWRI5 series suits a variety of medical and industrial equipment applications requiring high isolation levels, compact packaging, safety and/or medical approvals and robust filtering.
