Compact mezzanine connectors suit space constrained industrial systems

Industrial connectors available from Harwin now include the Archer .8 series. The dual row, 0.8mm pitch board-to-board connector has a 5mm stack height, making it suitable for use where there is limited available space and projects where cost-effectiveness is equally important, advises Harwin. Typical applications are factory automation and environmental monitoring equipment, smart meters, point of sales units, servers or data centre hardware and battery management systems in electric vehicles.

The Archer .8 connectors have phosphor bronze contacts which can carry a current of 0.5A each. They are available in 30-, 40-, 60-, 80-, 100- and 120-pin count versions to satisfy a range of design requirements.

Other features are polarisation which helps with orientation and alignment and prevents mis-mating and shrouded housings protect contacts from accidental damage. To facilitate automated assembly processes, the connectors are supplied in tape and reel packaging, with locating pegs fitted.
Operating within a temperature range of -40 to +125 degrees C, the 0.8mm connectors are in-stock and ready to order now.

According to Ryan Smart, Harwin’s new product introduction (NPI) product manager: “Archer .8 brings a whole new dimension to our industrial connector offering. These components combine the large pin counts and attractive price points that our industrial clients expect,” he says.

Harwin specialises in high-reliability (hi-rel) interconnect products for the most challenging of applications, in avionics, defence, space, motorsport, oil and gas, medical and industrial systems.

Harwin’s engineering team has developed an unmatched array of hi-rel products, including Gecko, Datamate, Mix-Tek and M300 product lines. Recent additions include the Archer Kontrol industrial connectors and the 60A-rated high current Kona.

The company also offers EMI / RFI shielding, a portfolio of PCB hardware and a selection of industry standard connectors. Products are all available with short lead times via Harwin’s sales and distribution network. Harwin has sales offices and manufacturing facilities in the UK, the USA, Germany, France and Singapore.
